I am having trouble justifying going through the trouble of completing my bestiary when apparently I'll only get to place one Universal Pylon. At this point I might as well just use teleporters. They require laying down wire, a lot of wire in some cases, but when you're in the endgame that's not that big of a deal. You can move fast, mine fast, and probably have plenty of money for materials. I was hoping I could put Universal Pylons in all sorts of spots of interest and then pick them to warp to on my map. This would be especially nice since after purifying my world, I can't use my Hallow Pylon anymore (which is pretty silly, I feel like the devs are sending mixed messages letting you make a Hallow Pylon but giving you a goal of purifying the world), but at the same time I wouldn't want to use my only Universal Pylon in my old Hallow area. The wiki recommends using the Universal Pylon like a reusable Return Potion, which is an interesting idea, but feels a bit cumbersome compared to using actual Return Potions, and Return Potions are quite easy to get in huge amounts if you keep all your Wormhole Potions from chests and do a little lava fishing.

Unlike potions of return, the pylon persists when leaving a world. It can also be used as many times as you want, of course. It's a lot more convenient. But yes, I would like a change like that. Before I got it, I assumed that you could place multiples in one world, to create a pylon network to places that couldn't be NPC towns for one reason or another, or that would need duplicates of the other pylons. Two ocean towns, forest towns, and such. It would make sense considering you need to put in a fair bit of work to get universal pylons, and they're obviously post-Moon Lord.

There's no benefit to purifying a world, though. You could just make a contained hallow biome wherever you want the Pylon.

There is of course the achievement, but also I feel like the Dryad's purpose is to hound you to purify the world. It always felt like the ultimate end-goal to me. Once you've beaten every boss and gotten what you need from the crimson/corrupt/hallow, you purify them away. I could bring back some of the infected areas in a contained manner, yeah, but I think having a pure world after beating Moon Lord just feels right.

I find the hallow (and by extend, Forest/caverns ect.) Pylons always on a weird spot since they can be infected by hallow and become unusable, this feels different compared with corruption, which is an actual treat to your housings/NPC's. Hallow doesn't affect much except your pylon network.

The goal of purifying your world has been a thing before Hallow even exists. But I feel like I get carried off at this point.

So, to be polite, what's the suggestion of this thread? As I couldn't make up the problem after reading it twice.
Judging from the title, I think it's logical for a pylon to connect to an other pylon. Your proposal is to warp anywhere in the world with it, and also return to?

As it is, you can only have one universal pylon placed in a world. Thread creator's asking for that limit to be removed, so that you can have several placed in different places.

Ahh, I see

Sounds super convenient to have in endgame.
