Derelict Locations

Every so often you'll encounter a derelict ship, primed for looting. Except... there's usually some sort of reason the ship became derelict in the first place, meaning you'll have to solve some sort of challenge to get the loot! Here's what we've found.

Derelict Bright Star

Location: Travel to the Pup I system, a system overlapping with Sirius and to the west of Alpha Centauri. Upon scanning the lone, barren planet, a ship is identified off its dark side. Upon traveling to the ship you'll find yourself in wreckage with the derelict ship among it.

How to Get Through the Derelict Bright Star:

You'll get the Extreme Heat Hazard upon boarding the ship. Your goal is to get the captain's key as fast as possible. To do this, drop down the latch (all doors on the immediate floor are locked) and open the one door below that isn't locked. Proceed directly through the two orange doors (don't stop for anything) and you'll walk into a medical room. Continue through it and enter the small room off the dining area on the left where you'll see a desk with a comupter and a corpse just in front of it. To the left of the computer is the captain's key! Grab it and run back the way you came. Climb the ladder and return to your ship to regenerate health. If you've lost a lot of health go ahead and take a nap to regenerate all your health for free.

Now begins the back and forth of exploring then returning to your ship for a quick cooldown. We'd recommend heading into to the flight deck first (orange locked door on the landing level) where you can raid the captain's locker and the cargo hold in two quick motions. That's where you'll find the credits and some other handy goods.

Down below in the locked room is where you'll find the bulk of the loot. In there are several large weapon crates and small ones too. You could do these two in one run, but it's safest to do it in two. The rest of the ship you basically ran through getting the key. Other than the terminals, there's not much of interest beyond those two locked rooms.
