Who has the most accurate surf report? ›

Minimal (ankle high or less) surf. Clean in the morning with WNW winds 10-15mph. Fairly clean conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting to the NW. Knee to thigh high ENE short period wind swell for the morning going more SE and building into the waist to chest range in the afternoon.

North Ocean City: Beaches from 62nd to Delaware Line

The beaches in North Ocean City are the least crowded and perfect if you want to get away from it all. Known as “condo row,” North Ocean City still has a lot of oceanfront hotels, but they are separated by large condo buildings.

In Ocean City, we take laws related to alcohol consumption very seriously. Drinking alcoholic beverages in public is prohibited, including on any street, avenue, alleyway, sidewalk, beach, parking lot and vehicle in any of these areas.

Sleeping on the beach is absolutely prohibited between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. No one is allowed on the beach or in the water between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Generally speaking the perfect size for beginners is 1 to 2ft. For intermediates: 2-4ft waves are best as it gives you more face of the wave to progress your skills on. You should keep an eye on the 'Swell Period', because it's a lot more indicative of the actual wave size (see the next point).

A breaking wave occurs when one of three things happen: The crest of the wave forms an angle less than 120˚, The wave height is greater than one-seventh of the wavelength (H > 1/7 L), or. The wave height is greater than three-fourths of the water depth (H > 3/4 D).

In conclusion, the difference in depths increases wave height, the canyon increases and converges the swell, and the local water current helps shape the world's biggest wave.

The surf beaches are in effect between 10:00 – 5:30 (Guarding hours) from May 1 to September 30 from the Inlet to 27th Street, and from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend to September 30th for all other beaches in Ocean City.

Global surf forecasting firm Magic Seaweed (MSW) has announced it is losing its name as it merges with California-based Surfline. MSW, which was created in Kingsbridge, south Devon in 2002, was bought by Surfline in 2017.
